An exercise in folly ii

An exercise in folly II

Published 26 Jun 2023

So, let me get one thing straight: I often have issues with figuring out what I want to focus on at certain times, and when it comes to anything serious I want to do I have to grab my laptop and physically move myself to a different environment where I won't be tempted by the wider world of distractions (looking at you, desktop PC).

Furthermore my ability to work on things depends on my mood and alertness. When I return from work I often want to collapse, watch some mindless YouTube drivel, and maybe spend an hour or two playing vidya. But when I'm at work I'm alert, and ready to focus on anything that captivates my attention.

Now with that being said: Pushing a site online in the last 2 minutes of break is a bad idea.

So it turns out I wasn't meticulous as I hoped (I rarely am). It turns out that the CSS would make blogposts extremely thin on mobile, there were multiple links which didn't work, the meta description tags didn't accurately do what they're supposed to do, etc. And by the time I update things, I don't even know if it'll work.

As said last time, the mad slapdash rush is the tried and tested method for learning any digital skill and I'm already reaping what I sowed. I'll push a quick fix and leave it for the night so I can unwind (my consolences to any professional webdev who wishes they could say that).
